Executive Summary

This project plans to develop a solution whereby high-quality multimedia content is integrated with assessments and delivered through a learning management system and assessment rules engine, together with the requisite technology hardware, to create a highly effective, measurable and personalized learning experience for students. The proposed solution will also include a three-tier teacher training and certification program in order to drive and ensure adoption.

Through this project the implementation of the program will begin from a Islamabad school. Under this proposal a solution will be created which will provide a dynamic, adaptive technology-driven learning and evaluation system for 9th grade mathematics. This solution will then be tested and improved through deployment in classrooms in three Islamabad schools, including at least one public school in the periphery of Islamabad.

The proposed solution comprises of the following elements which will be deployed for the teaching of the 9th grade mathematics curriculum:

  • Content Elements, consisting of: (1) multimedia reusable information objects; (2) online assessments; (3) physical game cards; and (4) best practice guide.

  • Technology Elements (Software), consisting of: (1) learning management system; (2) assessment builder; and (3) assessment rules engine.

  • Technology Elements (Hardware), consisting of: (1) student response devices; and (2) laptop/PC and projector.

  • Teacher Training and Certificate Program, consisting of teacher training program with three certification levels: (1) Yellow Belt (awareness); (2) Green Belt (deployment); and (3) Black Belt (leadership).

The proposed solution has four deployment options: (1) deployed on standalone basis in single classroom; (2) deployed throughout the school using a Local Area Network (LAN); (3) deployed universally through the Internet; and (4) deployed on individual PC or laptop.
