NICTRDF funded project generates 6 papers at various International Conferences Worldwide

Funded project of National ICT R&D Fund titled “Remote Patient Monitoring System with Focus on Antenatal Care for Rural Population” has generated six papers at various International Conferences in a time span of 19 months.

National ICT R&D Fund congratulates the team at nexGIN RC FAST-NU for successful execution of this project which has received significant recognition at national level as well as at international forums. The project has the potential to improve efficiency in health care delivery in the rural areas through its monitoring system which will record and transmit physiological data for medical analysis. Consequently, the feedback and decisions from Clinical Decision Support System will be displayed to Lady Health Workers in rural areas.

Following is the list of papers presented at various international forums:

  1. “The Role of Biomedical Dataset in Classification”, 12th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Medicine-AIME, 2009, Verona, Italy

  2. “A Ubiquitous Real-Time Motion Artifact Rejection technique for Remote NIBP Monitoring of Hypertensive Patients” Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, World Congress 2009, Munich, Germany

  3. “User-Centered Design of E-Health Applications for Remote Patient Management”, 10th Annual Conference of the NZ ACM Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction, 2009, Auckland, New Zealand

  4. “Performance Evaluation of Evolutionary Algorithms for Classification of Biomedical Datasets”, International Workshop on Learning Classifier Systems, IWLCS-GECCO, 2009, Montreal, Canada

  5. “Guidelines to Select Machine Learning Scheme for Classification of Biomedical Datasets”, 7th European Conference on Evolutionary Computing, Machine Learning and Datamining: EvoBIO 2009, Tubingen, Germany

  6. “Using Telemedicine as an Enabler for Antenatal Care in Pakistan”, 2nd International Conference on E-Medical Systems: E-Medisys 2008, Sfax, Tunisia

This project worth Rs.14.8 million has been fully funded by National ICT R&D Fund (Ministry of IT & Telecom). It is a remarkable achievement for this exceptional work of research which will provide capability to health care organizations and hospitals to deploy low-cost highly reliable infrastructure in rural areas resulting in an increase in quantity as well as quality of service in the field of health care. This project holds promising future for healthcare applications.
