National ICT R&D Fund Sponsors Connect 2011 - 6th Information and Communications Technology Exhibition & Conference

National ICT R&D Fund sponsored the 6th Connect Conference at Karachi Expo Center between 3rd – 5th May as R&D Sponsor. The conference had representation of over 100 companies from 14 countries. The conference and the allied exhibition provided an excellent opportunity to businesses and individuals to meet and discuss innovative solutions.

CEO, National ICT R&D Fund, Mr. Fawad Younus was one of the speakers in the ICT session at the conference. Mr. Fawad briefed the audience on the steps needed to be taken for the country’s transition into a knowledge based economy. Later the audience was briefed on the achievements of Fund and the opportunities it offers to both industry and academia to develop ICT solutions in congruence with the socio-economic landscape of Pakistan.

The Fund also setup an independent seminar section with sessions scheduled at different timings to brief the audience on the various procedural details that are followed when evaluating proposals. The presentations, which were shared jointly by Coordination and S&E departments, were designed to facilitate and educate prospective researchers on the various funding streams available and also the overall working of the Fund.
