National ICT R&D Fund co-sponsored the two-day International
Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET 2011) hosted by NUST
School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS)
that concluded in Islamabad on Tuesday, September 6th 2011. The
attendees represented industry and academia, both from Pakistan
and abroad.
Dr. Samar
Mubarakmand, Member Science & Technology, Planning Commission of
Pakistan was the chief guest. While addressing the opening
session he underscored the role of I.T. and its all-embracing
influence in the present era and stressed the need of innovative
solutions to the various security threats posed by rapid
technology developments.
Mr. Fawad
Younus CEO, National ICT R&D Fund also attended the event and
interacted with the key speakers, foreign delegates/researchers,
President IEEE, Islamabad section and other eminent
guests/participants of the event for institutional visibility.
Dr. Arshad Ali,
Conference General Chair and Principal SEECS, briefed the
audience about the objective of the conference, the process and
criterion of the selection of papers, the focus areas of
discussions and thanked the sponsors of the event.
